Gangjae (Park Hyuk-kwon) is leading an outwardly happy, inwardly tortuous life. Married, with a high school-aged daughter and a good job, he has achieved everything that society expects of an average middle-class man. But emotionally he is in the process of unraveling, and his well-ordered outer life is starting to show cracks as well. The plot of A Break Alone is divided between two time periods, and the film shifts restlessly back and forth between them. Ten years in the past, Gangjae meets an attractive young yoga teacher named Siyeon (Yoon Joo) and falls in love with her. They start an affair, which he manages to keep secret. But eventually she starts feeling frustrated and disillusioned with adultery (and love), and decides to marry someone else.

Beginning in the 1930s, “The English Patient” tells the story of Count Almásy who is a Hungarian map maker employed by the Royal Geographical Society to chart the vast expanses of the Sahara Desert along with several other prominent explorers. As World War II unfolds, Almásy enters into a world of love, betrayal, and politics that is later revealed in a series of flashbacks while Almásy is on his death bed after being horribly burned in a plane crash.

Some families are so tangled in a web of drama from financial issues, relationships, and so on that lead to big blow outs or worse, long awkward silences. This is the story of one of those families.

Natha a poor farmer from Peepli village in the heart of rural India is about to lose his plot of land due to an unpaid bank loan. A quick fix to the problem is the a government program that aids the families of indebted farmers who have committed suicide. As a means of survival Farmer Natha can choose to die. His brother is happy to push him towards this unique ‘honour’ but Natha is reluctant. Local elections are around the corner and what might have been another unnoticed event turns into a ’cause celebre’ with everyone wanting a piece of the action. Political bigwigs, high-ranking bureaucrats, local henchmen and the ever-zealous media descend upon sleepy Peepli to stake their claim. The question on everyone’s lips – “Will he or Won’t he?” As the mania escalates, nobody seems to care how Natha really feels.

Two boys beg their parents for a television set, nagging them until all patience is lost. The parents order the boys to be quiet and the boys do exactly that–refusing to utter a word. The boys’ silence ultimately puts the whole neighborhood into turmoil.
